Keep getting error messages

Hi,
I've installed dbpoweramp and tried using the cd ripper on a few CD's but keep getting error messages for all tracks.
Is it me doing something wrong, or is there a specific cd player required?
I'm using the cd drive in my 2011 imac running high sierra 10.13.6

I also have a cdj1000 mk3 if that might work better?

I had a look at that link above but I don't have the option for 'files and folders' in the 'privacy' folder.
Is it now located somewhere else?
My menu is very different from the one in the screenshot
Under 'privacy' I have location services, contacts, calendars, reminders, photos, accessibility, analytics.

That list scrolls, hold the mouse over those items and scroll them to reveal more.

I previously tried scrolling and looking through lots of other ways to try and manipulate security settings of 'files and folders'.
I'm going to order an external cd drive as it may be easier to do it that way.

The external drive would be impacted the same, as the security is per application.
