Ripping speed problem

I've been ripping my CDs for weeks with no problems. I'm using a PC with Windows 10. Now all of a sudden when I try, it rips at .01 speed which is way too slow. I've tried various different CDs - same result. I upgraded to version 17.3 - same result. In between ripping CDs I attempted to increase my internet speed to my PC by changing my TCP Global Parameters. I don't know if this has anything to do with the ripping problem or not. I reset the parameters (I think) but the ripping problem continues. Any help is much appreciated.

Looks like I'm back in business. I completely shut down my PC
and restarted and all is well. Sorry if anybody spent time on this.
