CD read errors and won't rip after a few tracks

I just went and bought a new USB drive because I assumed (and from reading) it's often the drive. Many disks, some are practically new and in great condition read in and find all the meta data. Then they rip the first few tracks (I have is set to mp3 192 fixrate). and after a few (sometimes 1 sometimes 4) the rest are just errors and won't rip.

I changed from fast to secure. Again

It is a fault with the cd drive, the drive is refusing to return any data.

Thanks for the reply. I was getting the error with a 2 year old external LG drive, so I went to the store and bought a brand new DELL external and get the same exact problem. (CDs play perfectly on both). Is there a list of known good external drives that work with dbpoweramp? _I'm $150 into this project SW & HW with frustratingly bad results.

If two different drives exhibit this same error, I doubt it is the drives themselves. More likely something in your windows settings related to the drive that is blocking the reading of info from the drive. Could even be something in a very aggressive anti-virus program?

I am having same issue. That is why I am here now. I believe that the software no longer has my registration info and somehow needs to be re-added. Once I figure that out with help, I hope, I will return here with helpful info.

Please explain exactly what issue you are having and include any error messages (preferably with screenshots).
