Re: Need advice before ripping collection to FLAC
A few more questions regarding the tags section of the CD ripper. When a field shows a value inserted between two < > style brackets (e.g. <Various Artists>), am I right in thinking that these arrows show the field has more than one value, and that those values will be inserted automatically? For example, a compilation album by various artists or where tracks are composed by different composers.
If the album artist field is left empty, I take it I need to enter the artist name manually to keep the tracks grouped as an album (e.g. "Various Artists" without the aforementioned arrows).
Also, these values are sometimes included in the sorting field followed by the words "sorts". For example, "Various artist sorts" or "Various Composersorts", either with or without a space between the words. Should I just leave this alone?
I've attached some images to show what I mean:
The other thing is, when the tags section shows a number in the "Compilation" field, what does this value represent? (Again, you can see this in the attached images.)
