Rip to DSD?

Hi,

Just purchased the version 17.1 of dBpoweramp and noticed a new option I don't recall seeing previously. The option to 'Rip to DSD'. So my question would be... if I have a Hybrid-SACD could I rip the SACD layer using my Blu-ray drive and dBpoweramp?

Your Bluray drive would only read it as a standard audio CD, so no point in going DSD.

I follow you. So, in order to utilize the DSD encoder I need a drive that can play SACDs.

Offhand, are there any standalone drives that do this in 2020?

As far as I know only special hacked early playstations which were not updated can read the SACD layer to a computer.
