    Ripping MQA CD

    HI,

I am new here in this forum and I have one question.

I want to rip my first UHQ/MQA CD (Queen Greatest Hits) with the dbpoweramp CD ripper (rel. 17)
The flac files are correctly save to my hdd.

I can play this files with any media player.
Now I want to play the hi-res mqa files via Amarra Luxe, but the player shows no mqa detection...

Are the settings in dbpoweramp are not correct? I use the standard settings.
I understand the mqa format so, that the information are stored in the audio files on the CD and no special setting are necessary...

    Many thanks in advanced!

    Cheers,

    Chris

Is your player able to detect any mqa in any flac file?

The instructions say that both local files and streaming are possible.
I can not say more about that.
Ist there a better mqa player for Windows?
      Maybe audirvana?

I am not sure, you would have to test with an already created file.

So, I have tested it with Audirvana 3.5.
All the downloaded mqa test files (e.g. David Elias - The Window - Vision Of Her (352.8 kHz).mqa.flac) are correct displayed as mqa.
But my self ripped flac file is only 16/44.1

The original CD (Queen: Greatest Hits (+ Bonus) (UHQCD/MQA-CD)) audio files are additionally mqa coded.

How can I correctly rip the CD to get flac files also mqa coded ?

            Many thanks!!!

            Greeting,
            Chris

              Re: Ripping MQA CD

as long as you do not have any DSP effects, then CD ripper would rip the CD with the correct stream embedded encodings.

Like for HDCD there is nothing to setup in CD ripper, if you want to preserve the HDCD data in the stream.

                Re: Ripping MQA CD

                I have found the solution:

renaming the files in ***.mqa.flac and everything works fine!
