Upgrade to 16.6 slows max cd speed in ripper

    Folks,

I reluctantly upgraded my DBPoweramp to 16.6 from 16.0 last night. I was ripping cd's flawlessly at much higher speeds with 16.0. The max speed shows 10x now where I was getting 40x before. I do not see a place to set the speed higher than 10x on the new version. I am using a HL-DT-ST DVDDRAM GH24NS95.

The CD drive self sets the maximum speed based on the quality of the disc (when you insert a CD it scans the outside last track of the disc). Try restarting computer fully and try different CDs.

I did that first. It is just strange that the same drive went from 40x max (observed, not a setting in the 16.0 software) to 10x max by a version upgrade. I did hook up my external BD unit and it does 24x max. Is there a list of best drive speeds? I saw the drive reliability post.
