Separating multiple artists with semi colons

I am having some trouble with separating multiple artists with semi colons. After reading the forums, I gathered that using a semi colon to separate tracks with multiple artists seems to be the best practice.

After ripping with CD Ripper, I have noticed some strange behavior.

The artist in the track title is only the artist before the first semicolon. Not sure if this is a bug or normal behavior.

When loading the ALAC track in iTunes, all artists after the semi colon are gone. Only the first artist remains.

dBpoweramp writes ID Tags so that multiple artists can be read by multi-artist aware programs, iTunes is not multi artist aware. You can use the DSP effect 'ID Tag Processing' and check the option: write '; ' for multi artists for non multi artist aware programs.

They haven't gone, it's just that iTunes is not able to display them all.
