Naming files in a very specific way

    Hello,

I think of buying the dbpoweramp CD ripper but I have one important question: is it possible to automatically name the audio files in a specicif way before ripping them?

I need the following way of naming:

    track number_title_artist_album (an exemple: 01_Fame_David Bowie_Young Americans

Is this possible with the dbpoweramp CD ripper?

Thank you for your help :-)

    You would set naming to:

    [MAXLEN]80,[SETLEN]2,48,,[track][]_[title]_[artist]_[album][]

This pads the track number to 02 (setlen) and makes sure the whole filename is not longer than 80 chars, as with certain album names you could go over the file system allowed.

@Spoon: Thank you very much for your help, I very much appreciate it. I now got the trial version and tried your naming formular [MAXLEN]80,[SETLEN]2,48,,[track][]_[title]_[artist]_[album][]

Unfortunately, it does not work 100% accurate as when I use it I get the following file names (here an example with the cure's album "entreat":

      [MAXLEN]80,01_Pictures Of You_The Cure_Entreat[]

So I want to get rid of the "[MAXLEN]80,01," at the beginning and of the [] at the end of the file name...

Could you please help me again?

      Thanks :-)

        I now tried

        [track]_[title]_[artist]_[album]

which gives me exactly what I want!

But I guess I should worry about the 80 chars rule, how do I incorporate this into my naming formula?

Help is very much appreciated :-) Thank you

I should mention that your original formular did not work as I wanted as it gave me some [MAXLEN]80 part at the beginning and [] at the end of the filename... Hence I removed this part of the naming formula and it now works but does not incorporate the 80 chars rule...

            Sorry it should have been:

            [MAXLENGTH]80,[SETLEN]2,48,,[track][]_[title]_[artist]_[album][]

@Spoon: thank you very much, now everything is perfect! :-)

Another questions: why does dBpoweramp automatically create a "Folder"-JPF file? I don't need that, can you turn this feature off somehow?
