Inaccurate but secure rips...

What causes a rip to be inaccurate but secure? For example, one CD that I have rips securely after one first pass and then one ultra-secure pass, but is listed as inaccurate "AR (16)" on all thirteen tracks of the disc? Is this because Accurate Rip is comparing my rip results with those in the database corresponding to a different disc or version of the same disc? I'm guessing this is probably the case since this particular CD had a number of different pressings on several labels, all with the same tracks and titles. How does a CD get identified in the AR database, by a numerical ID tag that is associated with the disc (which I would think ought to be unique to each pressing or version)?

My question is not really critical, since if the rip is secure I'm not so bothered by it being inaccurate, but I'm asking out of curiosity so as to gain a better understanding of how this software does its job.

Different pressing of CD from the one in database (so far at least).

I also have the same question and thought of just replying to this thread instead of creating a brand new one. I have a single track (track 14) on this enhanced CD which I can't get it accurate but secure only. Also in dBpoweramp, the following track number is 16 but it's a silents track. In Exact Audio Copy, track 15 is shown but I think it might be video because it wasn't automatically selected on launch of the program. But I was able to rip track 14 accurately with Exact Audio Copy. Is there any way to do this in dBpoweramp?

Yes, and it was approx. 20MB smaller (same compression level) than the inaccurate but secure result from dBpoweramp.

Put it down to a non-compliant red-book CD, you are not allowed an audio track after the data track.

What exactly do you mean by that? Also, is the track 14 rip from EAC considered accurate then, and the dBpoweramp not?

It means that when creating Audio CDs there are rules, and one rule is that you are not allowed:

audio tracks
data
audio track

as this CD has. EAC deals with it better than dBpoweramp.
