CD Ripper App Crash?

Had db poweramp for many years without issue. My old computer failed recently so I have re subscribed with latest upgrade 16.5 on my new computer (still using Windows 7).
Cannot rip CD's as keep getting AppCrash and a windows explorer stop working box. Read a few comments in the forum, tried to do a Test Conversion and a Burst setting as requested still no joy? Any ideas for a non teckie music lover!
Also uninstalled the program checked disc drive all ok! Program shows fault box on installing and uninstalling?

CD Ripper requires Service Pack 1 on Windows 7, the crash is 'invalid instruction' which is exposed by having the older version of Windows.
