Re: Any point to re-ripping CD's with R16.5 compared to R15.3?
If you have ripped your CDs into a lossless format (i.e. flac or wav), then there are definitively no changes concerning the sound quality. The main difference between R15.x and R16.x is the user interface, the exchange of one metadata provider and some additional functions.

Well, I think I might have 30 or so I haven't sold or donated, so it wouldn't be too bad. R15.3 was giving me trouble but the newer version is much faster.

So, NOT a waste of time using a lossy format (mp3?).
If you had no lossless, worth reripping to lossless. Otherwise no benefit. Since you already have flac versions, you can recreate mp3 easily with conversion feature. But even that is a waste of time unless you want to change from one level of lossy to another.
