Hi I have 16.4 on Windows 10, and somehow can't see the CD drive anymore (there have been some big Windows 10 upgrades recently). The message I get is D: (Unknown) in the CD drive window. However Windows MediaServer can see the drive, rip from it oe play it. Any ideas...?

 Re: Missing CD/DVD Drive

Try right click on CD Ripper icon (or dBpoweramp Control Centre) >> Run as Administrator

Which version and build of Windows 10 are you currently running?

(Right click on the Start button and select Run from the menu. Type winver in the text box and click OK.)Last edited by mville; May 12, 2018, 11:36 AM.Comment

 Re: Missing CD/DVD Drive

Not sure, I have heard of this controlled access mode since around November. It could be we are able to detect this mode is enabled and inform users directly on what to do. One for a future update.Comment

That cured it! Thanks very much for that, Spoon. I don't know what had changed that value, I've been using dbpoweramp for >10 years and never visited those optionsComment

 Re: Missing CD/DVD Drive

This worked, thanks very much! I also changed Windows Defender "Controlled Folder Access" afterwards, just in case
 Thanks again RJSComment
