Ripping HDCD with Mac OS Hangs

I just loaded dbPoweramp on my MacBook and tried using the HDCD DSP option. Using either an external or the laptop's internal results in a hang that requires a hard restart to free? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a lethal config that trips this?

If you remove the HDCD effect, it does not hang?

Correct. No problems with HDCD off. FWIW, the only other DSP I'm using is album level replay gain.

If you rip the CD to a lossless format, then later convert the tracks to another lossless format but including the HDCD effect, does it hang then?

Tried the conversion route, but still no luck. While the laptop doesn&*8217;t hang, the process stalls, showing no progress. Again, using flac, lossless, replay gain.album, and HDCD DSP.
