Multi disk sets

I use this:

[genre]\[IFCOMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[IFEQUALS]album artist,Various Artists,Var - [genre][][IF!EQUALS]album artist,Various Artists,[album artist][],Var - [genre][][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][][]\[YEAR] [album] \ [track] [title]

I just ripped a 8 disk set. I wish, for example, the first disk would number tracks 101, 102 ..
and the 8th disk would number tracks 801, 802 . ..

Then I put all the disks/tracks in the same directory

Can someone tell me how to modify my string so I can accomplish what I want to do with out mucking anything up?

When ripping in CD Ripper, right click on track on and choose the option to apply a track number offset, do +100 for the first disc. For the 2nd disc do it twice to add +200 track number offset.

I had this all sorted out once, then I had to rebuild my PC a while back and lost my "magic string". I thought I had all this automated somehow, I could be wrong. Maybe 1 CD in 20 is a multidisk set but if I can avoid renaming 8 disks worth of tracks that would be great. No way to program to get the same effect?

I do not think there is an automated way of doing this.

Why not add the disc number to your naming string?

Where your filename is [track] [title], you can add the disc number as follows, [disc][track] [title]. You will need to make sure that disc is populated with the correct value, before ripping.

that may be exactly what I had done before. I remember it being easy and automatic.

I got this for the track name:

[disk] 02 Lover

it did not read [disk] as a variable but as a literal.

can this be fixed or am I pooched?

I suspect I was in lowercase, you are telling me this language is case sensitive?

let me look it up,

[disk] [track] [title] are all lower case, yet [disk] does not work but [track] [title] work ok as variables.

the [disk] variable is obtained from the first digit of the field "disk" so that in the field 8/16 would be disk "8" of "16" total disks?

I had 1/1 in that field.

It is not the case sensitivy but disc with a "c" or with a "k".

That is correct, for computer HDDs there is disk, but if referring to CD discs it is disc.
