Not all my cds will rip, what can I do?

    Hi

I have ripped 400 or so cds using mp3 (lame), encoding slow (high quality), bit rate (CPR) and constant bit rate high quality (larger file). However, 40 or so have "stuck" at 0 or have refused to rip at all. For example, half a dozen of Neil Young cds. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why this is so. They have all previously loaded on to iTunes.

What can I do to rip them? Thanks for any help or advice.

I've only got the one external to my MacBook Pro, it's a lenovo portable drive.

do you have use C2 pointers ticked in ripper options. If so, untick and retry ripping.

Thanks, but it appears that my C2 errors option is already "unticked". Is that the right one?

this is no argument at all. iTunes will produce output files without any error message, even if there have been problems like a scratched, unreadable CD. That is the main difference to dBpoweramp.

Possible reasons for your problems can be:

            - copy protection on the CD
            - scratched surface
            - fault drive

yes, that's it. I'm out of ideas. If all of a sudden I was getting NO rips on any CDs tried, I'd probably try to uninstall and reinstall dbpa. but have no real idea at this point.

Try ripping one of the problem CDs with iTunes. If it doesn't rip then your problem almost certainly isn't with DBPA.

Preiously ripped ads to iTunes, now putting on a NAS for the first time so that I can play through newly acquired Sonos speakers. Thanks for your response.
