Ripping of final track stuck on "pass 1 ripping 99%"

OS: OSX (latest)
Hardware: Apple Macbook pro 2012
CD RIpper: Latest
CD Ripper settings: as per website manual

Whether I rip the whole album or an individual track. If I try to rip the last track on an album then the ripper gets 'stuck' at 99% - I left it for 2+ hours. If I click cancel then display is changed to 'cancelling' but it never completes the cancel process. CD is spinning constantly throughout. Force quit does kill the app and CD slows about 30 seconds after.

Incidentally, looking at the files that have been ripped. All but the last one are perfect and the last track that is failing is always between 44kb and 103kb.

This has happened with all CDs I've tried to rip this morning.
Anyone offer me a workaround/solution?

Where are you ripping to? a local hdd or nas drive?

I'm guessing you have "read to lead-in/out" selected? Try checking it off.
