Can we prevent unauthorized changes to dBpoweramp's CD Ripper configuration setting?

We have configured several PCs with our in-house standards for ripping CDs to add to our FLAC-based media library. Every now and then, somewhere along the time line, someone appears to have reset the configuration to avoid the secure ripping feature, reverting to burst ripping. Other metadata settings also appear to have been reset to those that are standard with a fresh installation from scratch.

With some other applications, we have been able to make their configuration file "read-only" for a regular user and so that only the system's administrator can configure the settings.

Is there a way to lock CD Ripper's settings so that only an administrator can make changes, and so that "regular" users cannot alter the required configuration?

Thanks in advance for your advice on how to accomplish this.

Many settings are stored in the registry, see here: Location where dBpoweramp saves its settings

It seems odd and rather worrying that you should (randomly) be losing these registry settings.

Perhaps your system administrator can take a look at your local user profiles (and/or roaming profiles) for any clues.

For all practical purposes, I am the system administrator. Your excellent advice will be taken.

I'm not sure if these changes are random. I rather expect there's a perpetrator tampering with the profiles, perhaps having obtained the administrator password to create their own user profile.

        Hey Dennis,

if you have a windows network and an AD controller, you could rollout the registry settings with a group policy.

Agreed, there will be a reason the registry entries are changing, it's just a matter of trying to find it.
