Ripping multiple CDs in parallel (6 to 7 DVD drives attached)

I was wondering is there a way to rip 3 to 6 CDs in parallel
to perhaps speed up the process of handing hundreds of CDs
other than running an instance of the software/process in
separate desktops (Windows 10 or MacOS)?

Is this recommended, will there be any flaws or cross contamination
of the ripped .flac files? So far I have been doing this with no
problems but can get confused as to which desktop is or has processed
which CD. I may not be that good at multitasking.

Can the software run in one windows and see all the CDs/(or DVD drives)
in one process of the software running?
I was able to do this in iTunes and even Windows Media Player
where all of the attached DVD/CD drives show up in one instance
of those programs running and I can click and work on each CD
as needed ripping them into their appropriate and separate directories
on the hard drive and I could monitor the progress in one window/desktop
and thus giving a simulation of things running faster and in parallel.
I know when I ripped the 1300 CDs back in April, prior to that I estimated
it would take 3 weeks to complete the project but once I was running
or ripping 6 to 7 CDs back to back using those DVD drives, things went
faster than expected and all were ripped using iTunes to .wav files
    within 1 week.

Just trying to make this easier and go faster.

    Well thanks...

Take a look at Batch Ripper:

Updated to replace AMG metadata with discogs. Download: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/dBpoweramp-Batch-Ripper.exe

    It was designed for this.

Oh, I thought batch ripper was for ripping an array of .wav files that are
      stored on a hard drive.

I never really executed or explored the Batch ripper much as I was using
the CD ripper but opening up several in separate desktops to run in parallel.

      Well thanks.

Again I am sorry for not reading that through or researching it well enough.
When I saw Batch Converter or something, I thought it was sending many
.wav files into it to be converted to another audio form like .flac.

I thought it took a list of audio files and mass ripped them and not that it
could recognize multiple optical drives to rip CDs in parallel.

I will explore that feature instead of running the CD rippers in separate desktop
windows (so far 6 of them) and getting confused as to which window/desktop is
        for which optical drive.

I was used to iTunes and WMP where one can see all of the optical drives in
one running instance of the application. Maybe the Batch Ripper or Converter
        does the same thing.
But I did kind of see an old type of mass CD player icon (one of those old
CD jukeboxes that held 100 or so CDs), maybe that should have made it obvious
to me that I could run the rips in parallel and I did not interpret it as such.
        Thank you.

Update: the Batch ripper works well, not like I thought to run
all the CDs in parallel but it does rip multiple songs off one CD
in parallel which is better... iTunes ripped each song sequentially
and the parallel effect was when I loaded the other CDs and ripped
at the same time but each CD each song was ripped sequentially.

Batch Ripper rips songs of the CD using the several cores (8 in my case)
then once finished with one CD it goes to the next to rip those audio files
          in parallel.

          Well wonderful.

          Thank you.

Though I am having success with the parallel ripping multiple tracks,
it seems to add the metadata, album art only in one file , track 1
and not the rest. I have to get the Folder.jpg out the first track and
then select the subsequent tracks and add the image to tracks 2 to Track n...
Maybe this is the trial version of the software... the purchased version will do
            it all.
Okay well I will call it a night... ripped a few more CDs getting closer to that 1300

What naming string are you using for file naming?

Re: Ripping multiple CDs in parallel (6 to 7 DVD drives attached)

Who knows, there are so many options to set here and there...
I thought I had set the correct settings when I was using the
CD Ripping standalone and running a session in separate desktops.
The metadata got stored on those just file when the rips were sequential.
Now I have to do something else when running the Batch mode?

Don't worry about it. It is working fine... even if a minor inconvenience
of having to add the album art in Track2 through Track n as the
title and the album names are inserted fine in all Tracks 1 to n.
I do not see the composer information but who cares. Maybe some CDs
did not list that... I will have to re-rip the Pink Floyd one (one I did already
using the method I used before batch )Dark Side Of The Moon a *1 pop album
had the composer information it it.

It is all fine... it is a minor inconvenience and it is a bit fun to inspect the
flac generated files anyway... I had to do the same when I was trying out
                WMP with the rips.

It is good software. I just cue up 3 CDs in batch mode (resting the other 3 DVD drives for now)
and go outside for a bit and come back to see all 3 CDs finished, "flacked" and stored
in their appropriate directories: FlacMasterHD:\Artist\Album\Track no. Track title.flac . Great.
                Thank you for your assistance.

I was sleepy... not just file but just fine
                  maybe it was some autocorrect?
