No, I am not sure how to use these and to what advantage they would provide?

      2. Here are two screenshots...one before and one after removing the "folder.jpg" from the folder. If I play the song in WMP while the folder.jpg is in the folder the album art shows up but after I remover the "folder.jpg" file from the folder the album art does not show up in WMP. I have never had this issue before. In the past I have always deleted the "folder.jpg" file from the folder after ripping but still could always see the album art no matter where I played it on.
From the screenshots, it appears the artwork IS being embedded in the files.

Please clarify the issue you have with dBpoweramp as I suspect your issue is related to Windows Media Player?

The pictures you posted show that the album art is embedded in the file. The artwork is there, and dbpa is working correctly. So that narrows it down to something with WMP or your computer. When it worked correctly were you using Win 10? Has WMP updated recently. Bottom line: the embedded artwork is there, but for some reason WMP is not showing it.

edit: mville beat me. But we are both saying the same thing. dbpa is embedding the art and it is there. Something is happening with WMP.

Correct. The issue is with WMP and the Windows 10 upgrade, which has probably installed a different version of WMP that handles artwork differently to the previous version.

Re: No album art unless folder.jpg is in the folder

One last thing. I selected a CD that I ripped in 2013 and then reripped it a few moments ago. When I compared the same 2 tracks' properties (one ripped with CD Ripper v 14.4 and the other with v 16, I found that there is a difference in the Audio Properties tab. On the line "contains" it showed Album Art, ID Tag (ID3v2,3) on the song ripped in 2013 and Album Art, ID Tag (APEv2 & ID3v1.1) on the song ripped moments ago. Could this be an issue. The file ripped in 2013 still shows the album art with no "folder.jpg" in the album folder but the newly ripped file only shows the album art if the "folder.jpg" file is in the album folder. Both were played with the current WMP on Windows 10.

Yes, if you want to write ID3v2.3 tags (which includes artwork) as you did with R14.4, you will need to change the APEv2 & ID3v1.1 setting in R16.

Where would I do that? I don't see anywhere that I can select ID3v2.3.

I am not running R16 yet, but in R15.3 it is set here:
Configure dBpoweramp >> Codecs >> Advanced Options >> mp3 ID Tagging >> Tag Creation

I do not see any of these in R16.

In R16, I think Configure dBpoweramp has been replaced with the dBpoweramp Control Center.

In Control Center, next to Audio Codecs, try clicking the List / Options button or next to Configuration, try clicking the Advanced Settings button.

Then I do not know where the settings are in R16, sorry.

Are you the developer? I thought it was someone called Spoon. I tried to find a contact number for the company but have had no luck yet.

No, I don't work for Illustrate. Hopefully, someone running R16 can advise.
