    Flac files only play preview

I know this is not a dbpoweramp issue….but I know you guys know a lot about music files. I ripped my collection to a netgear ready NAS a couple of years ago using dbpoweramp. The NAS was starting to die and the firmware was corrupted. I had to take it to a company that was able back up the NAS to an external hard drive. The files all appear on the hard drive. The problem I have is during playback from the harddrive....a song will play 49-50 seconds and then goes to the next song. It is like you are only previewing the song. On the playback screen it shows the entire song times….it just never finishes a song. I am trying to recover these files without the labor of reripping the entire collection.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

What happens, if you copy the files to your local hdd and try to play them there?

That's how I discovered the problem...I copied the files from the external hard drive to an internal SSD in my music streamer(Auralic Mini). I thought it was the streaming device causing the problem. I then tried streaming the music from the external HD...same problem...then I tried playing them thru a laptop...same problem...and I knew it was a file issue of some sort.

The files must be corrupted, try converting a flac file to 'test conversion' in dBpoweramp, it will tell you if corrupted or not.
