Hi everyone,
I've come across what appears to be a reproducible issue with dBpoweramp CD Ripper and wondered if anyone has seen this before.
Disc
Artist: Eagles
Album: Hotel California
Catalogue: Asylum 253 051
Manufactured in West Germany by Record Service GmbH, Alsdorf
This is an early West German pressing.
Problem
The CD contains 9 tracks, but dBpoweramp consistently detects only 8.
The first track shown is numbered Track 2 and plays "New Kid in Town", labelled as 'Hotel California'; with every subsequent track shifted by one.
The final track, "The Last Resort", is not shown at all.
The behaviour is completely repeatable (yes I've restarted, and checked all updates are installed!)
What I've tested
Drive
Slimtype eBAU108 (firmware PL01)
The same drive has successfully ripped hundreds (157 to be precise) of other CDs with dBpoweramp, including many early pressings, so I don't believe this is a hardware issue.
Other observations
The disc itself is in excellent condition.
AccurateRip works normally on other discs, and I've successfully ripped many original pressings (including early West German and US discs) with this setup.
Question
Has anyone seen dBpoweramp fail to detect Track 1 on an early pressing like this?
If this looks like a bug, I'm happy to provide:
Thanks,
Matthew

What I've tested
- ✅ Windows Explorer shows all 9 CDA tracks.
- ✅ Windows Media Player plays all 9 tracks correctly.
- ✅ Exact Audio Copy (EAC) detects all 9 tracks correctly.
- ✅ EAC can rip Track 1 ("Hotel California") without issue.
- ❌ dBpoweramp only detects 8 tracks.

If this looks like a bug, I'm happy to provide:
- screenshots from both dBpoweramp and EAC
- AccurateRip Disc ID
- matrix / hub codes
- TOC information
- EAC log
Thanks,
Matthew
