Rip accurate, no disc in any database

Greetings dB forums,

I recently ran into an interesting rip result and wonder if anyone can offer an explanation?

Recently I got a batch of "new" discs including some rather obscure / rare discs. In the ripping process I had two discs that came up blank regarding online metadata, no Discogs, no title, no track names, no album art, nothing. I had to type everything in manually from artist and track name to year and genre. For the album art I took a photo of the disc cover and uploaded that.

Okay, press rip and all of a sudden the rip is in accurate! Both discs ripped accurate, and both had no online information except a seller listed from Google(not Discogs).

Just curious whats happening here? no train smash.

The databases for the metadata are not the same as the one for accuraterip. Two different stories.

I don't find that unusual. The accuraterip database information happens more or less automatically unless the user stops it. The metadata sources get much of their information from either the record companies or crowd sourced from people who acquired the CD and chose to submit metadata, which many do not. So obscure CDs, particularly self-issued CDs often don't appear in most or all of the online sources. A little "trick", sometimes you can find the CD for sale on Amazon or such, and if they list the tracks, you can copy and paste into the dBpoweramp metadata page.
