    HiFi Rose RSA780

    Hello,

I received my new CD ripper today.
    It’s a HiFi Rose RSA780.
The drive is only recognized as “Generic,” so AccurateRip isn’t configured automatically.
What value should I enter for “Sample Offset” to ensure the RSA780 is controlled correctly?

    Best regards,
    Christof

AccurateRip will self configure the drive if you feed it enough CDs.

Thank you for your quick response.
But problem is, that often the drive is not recognized by dbpoweramp and during ripping the CD gets suddenly ejected...
Until now, I was only able to rip just one CD.
      All other tried failed!

No need to rip, keep putting discs in until accuraterip configures.

Then find out why it is ejecting the disc, you might have set an option.

It`s strange: Some discs get ripped correctly until the end.
But very often the drive eject discs before ripping starts or while ripping...
Any know problems in combination with dbpoweramp and HiFi Rose RS780?

You would have to look at the logs and enable secure ripping log to find out if dBpoweramp is doing it, or the drive.

FWIW I have this same drive connected to a Mac and have never had an issue ripping with it. If I get a new disc that I want to submit a fingerprint to AccurateRIP I will rip the CD with a Windows virtual machine using VMware so I can submit with the Windows version of dBpoweramp. That has always worked as well.

My HiFi Rose RSA780RSA was definitely defective, so I sent it back to the dealer.
Instead, I’ve now received a Ruark Audio R-CD100 CD drive.
This drive is immediately recognized as a “DVD-ROM 28SX,” and ripping is possible.
However, accurateRip doesn’t recognize this drive either and doesn’t configure it.
As a result, no sample offset is determined or set.
Does anyone know the correct value, or does it not matter?

For the best drives to rip with see:

Top Drives AccurateRip collects data from all drives, normally this is only used to verify a disc is accurate, but can be reversed to calculate which drives are the most accurate (as measured by lowest % inaccurate tracks), on the basis that people who have a drive would have the same number of damaged disks as everyone else,

Thank you for posting this link to the "best drives list".

But I now have the Ruark Audio R-CD100 CD (DVD-ROM 28SX), and do not need another drive.

Unfortunately my drive is not listed there and there are also no values for sample offsets.
Any other information about my drives sample offset?

AcccurateRip will find the offset if using Windows, feed it discs.

Keep in mind the whole point about using AccurateRip is that virtually any drive can do your ripping and you can be confident that each disc is perfect if AR has a number hgiher than 1 or 2. Expensive drives are not a requirement for this.
