CD Ripper is not recognizing empty CD-R

I just re registered my DB Power Amp Reference R.14.4 but when I put in a cd-r to rip files to it does not recognize the disc in my drive.

dBpa rips music from Audio CDs to files, but does not rip to empty CD-Rs (whatever that may be?). What do you want to do? Writing to a CD-R?
