    Metadata Tag Creation

I am preparing to rip my CD collection for importing to an Aurender music server.

I will be using dBpoweramp to create WAV files with ID3 metadata.

In dBpoweramp Configuration, Wave ID Tagging, these are the options.

    Tag Creation: ID3
    ID3v2 Version: v2.3, v2.2, v2.21
    ID3v2 Text Encoding: ANSI, Unicode-16

From a quick Google search, my understanding is that ANSI is used by operating systems like Windows 95/98 and older, while Unicode is a newer encoding that is used by all of the current operating systems.

Is this the combination that you would recommend?

    ID3v2 Version: v2.3
    ID3v2 Text Encoding: Unicode-16

    Thank you!

No, I would recommend to rip to FLAC instead of wave. Same quality, less space needed, less hassel with tagging.

v2.3 Unicode-16 is the most compatible.

Are there plans to add ID3 v2.4 to dBpoweramp Configuration > Wave ID Tagging?
