I have closed all other apps, tried multiple ways, but 1 out of every 10 or so CDs comes up and will not allow the first track to rip., saying Could not save cover art. EAC rips it fine. Is there any underlying issue?

Rip to a folder which is not Music, then move the files over, another program must be locking the files and stopping the tag writing.Comment

I understand that as a workaround, but there are no other programs running that does that. Some CDs work perfectly, and others don't. Then if I try the problem CD later, it works fine as well. I am not sure what program would be causing that, as it just seems to randomly come up, and is quite irritating for a program I have paid for not to work correctly, and a problem that many people seem to have. What type of program is actually causing this? I only have my internet browser open

Which version do you have? normally dBpoweramp rips to a .tmp file then renames at the end.Comment

What music player or library manager do you have installed? This is often a cause for this problem, as some tend to scrape for new files at regular intervals. Especially intrusive is Windows Media Player, or whatever newer version of this you may have if you are at Win11. Options like "Automatically add new files" should be disabled and run manually.
