First Track Rips Secure but with an "i" instead of check mark

If I then re-rip just the first track again, I get the check mark for the secure rip. One might conclude that dBpoweramp doesn't give enough time for the CD drive to spin up before it begins ripping, but even if that's true, why does the second try always seem to work "correctly"?

This is a fault with the drive, they should not need to spin up...however there is an option in the settings to do a spin up time.
