I trusted Copilot to get me to a better alternative for ripping CD audiobooks and music, and it was emphatic that dBpoweramp is the best. So, confident of my computer skills, I bought it instead of taking advantage of the free trial. After over 2 hours of trying to simply set up filenames for a CD audiobook, I have pretty much given up. I couldn't have imagined that simple file naming could involve a programming language with conditional statements and so many technical choices that I can't get an audiobook to rip and give me orderly files so I can listen to it on my phone. wmplayer was tedious because I had to manually change the file naming when switching between my music cd's and audiobooks. I was happy to see that dBpoweramp lets me set up saved settings for different uses. But then I never got even close to actually producing rips I could use, because of the complexity of file naming. Pride indeed goeth before a fall. If anyone out there can provide a source to explain simply how to accomplish such a mundane task, I would be grateful. Thanks fo any help.

Ideally, I'd like to match WMP's easy audiobook cd ripping, with a folder for the author's name, then a subfolder for the book's name, then each track showing the name lalbum, track number, name of the track
E.g. folder:Ima Author
folder:DaBookName
file names: DaBookName (Disc 1).Track1.TracknameComment

I've never ripped audiobooks so I may be entirely wrong. But I would assume the following tag contents:
ARTIST - author
ALBUM - Book title
TRACK - track number (chapter number)
TITLE - chapter/track name
If I'm correct, try this naming string in your ripper settings. The bottom left corner of the CD ripper screen.
1. first on the row called "path", click "set" and navigate to the parent folder where you want to store all your audiobooks (e.g., could be a parent folder you have called "Audiobooks"
2. Then on the row called "Naming", click set. Then on the popup screen, delete what is in the "Dynamic Naming" box. Then copy and paste the following into that box. Then click OK to save and close the box.
[IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\album\[disc].[track].[title]Comment
