Best Approach Rip vs Convert

I currently have about 40 gig of music in WMA format in the cloud. I would like to convert everything to FLAC Lossless. How much of a difference in quality will I experience if I rip all of the music from original CDs into FLAC versus convert the WMA to FLAC? I ripped original music using Windows Media Player using highest quality available at that time (2013) AROUND 50-60 MB PER CD.

A significant quality difference, WMA at that size was far from lossless.
