Cannot reach AccurateRip

Long-time user of both dBpoweramp and PerfectTUNES. Starting some weeks ago, I cannot reach the AccurateRip server. When I use CD Ripper, it always reports that the disc is not in AccureateRip. When I use PerfectTUNES I get the message Could Not Connect (after a few minutes delay).

I will go out on a limb and guess this is a user-specific problem, aka my fault. ;-) I run an aggressive firewall: are there any specific port settings I need to allow? (Although I have not changed my firewall is quite some time.)

Yes, I can browse to www.accuraterip.com with no problem. Update: I fixed a user-error and Accuraterip now works AOK from CD Ripper. I still have the same multi-minute "hang" when using PerfectTUNES.

By chance, do CD Ripper and PerfectTUNES use different servers for Accuraterip?

I have the same issue it says checking with accuraterip, does nothing and then reports could not connect

Problem identified and solved! PerfectTUNES communicates with the AccurateRip servers over TCP port 42531, which is an unusual port. I wrote a firewall rule to open up that port, and PerfectTUNES works AOK. Interesting to note that CD Ripper does NOT use that port to communicate with the AccurateRip servers.

Favor to ask: can you provide the block of possible IP addresses used by the AccurateRip servers? That would enabled me restrict the firewall rule, which is quite a bit safer. The best I can tell myself is 89.238.x.x, which is a pretty broad block ... I am hoping you can help me narrow it down.

Bingo! The server in question is pt1.perfecttunes.com: opening up port 42531 for that host fixes the issue, well, perfectly.
