Do I need to set DSP?

I am a new dbPoweramp user, so this may be a question that has been asked before: by default, there is no DSP setting/action set in the ripper. I have already ripped a number of CDs without a DSP setting. Is it necessary to set a DSP action at all, or can you rip without DSP and still achieve the same sound quality as with a DSP setting?

No need for DSP when ripping CD.

    Unless want ReplayGain calculating.

The only DSP I use in ripping is the ReplayGain DSP to add replaygain tags to the metadata so that replaygain-aware players can use this tag info. Has nothing to do with bitperfect rips.
