can i know where does dbpoweramp ripper store temp files?

    hi
i just ripped a cd few minutes ago , but it was strange , just because i set to store the files (flac) on my external hard disk
but the ripper did start to write the temp file on my external hard disk , i used System Informer & Process Explorer

i found these settings , may i know how can i store all the temp files on in ram or in the destination , just my antivirus is just a bit nastry sometime
i tried all the 3 options and the same behavior
could be test it ? i use the last version
    thanks

why don't you add temproary folder -> destination
it's much better or rip on the fly , with 64 bit it's pretty easy to handle audio data

      thanks

The 2nd option 'Rip to Temporary Folder, move after ripping' is "temproary folder -> destination"

If the option rip direct to final filenames is set then yes

I have some questions related to this. I want to rip my CDs to an external hard drive. My laptop doesn't have a lot of space, so I prefer temp files to go to the hard drive.

              (1) Should I create a folder called "Temp Files" on my external drive and then have "Temporary Folder" in Control Center point to it? Or do I need to point it to a specific folder or name on my external hard drive?

              (2) In the rip options, I am not 100% sure which is the best to select. I don't want to use the 3rd option "Rip direct to final filenames" since failed rips can cause problems. So I am left with the other two options.

My understanding is the 1st option will rip as "track1.tmp" and then change the filename to "track1.flac" afterwards, and it doesn't create separate tmp files that get deleted (it only renames the extension). Can someone please explain what really happens with the 2nd option "Rip to temporary folder, move album after ripping" so I understand it better? Is it the same as option 1 (where the song will rip as track1.tmp in my Temporary Folder and then the extension is renamed to .flac, and then the successful files get moved to my main music folder), or will I be left with 1000 temp files in my Temp folder if I rip 1000 songs?

                Correct.

The 2nd option writes to %tmp% it is the system temp folder, it will not be the external drive.

might you please give a test ?
                  maybe there is a bug
just because i used the option rip dicrect but with process explorer and system informer , i can see dbpoweramp cd ripper even with this option does write in the windows temp folders file and after they are removed
                  thanks

Temp log files are written to the temp folder, that is normal.

                      but there 3 options
                      1) rip to temp rename album at the end
2)rip to temporaney folder and move
                      3)rip direct to filenames

in short there is not a rip in ram and convert on the fly?
i remember an older version could do it
can dbpoweramp rip in ram ?
could be added ? it's a 64bit software , 16gb or 32gb are enough to rip an entire album and rip
                      thanks

                        1) would use the memory, and encode to .tmp file which is renamed to .flac after ripping.

Unless I change the tmp folder setting in the Control Center to point to a folder on my external drive.. then it will write to my external drive, correct?

Do not do this, if the temp drive becomes unavailable, then dBpoweramp would likely not work.
