Checked against 72 virus checkers. Send the file to Norton, however you will notice Norton has incorrectly flagged our programs about 10 times over the last 10 years:

The following lists security software which is not performing as it should, that is blocking legitimate programs (such as dBpoweramp) from running. There is nothing we can do on our side, we produce legitimate software, virus free for the last 20 years, never once have we supplied a virus, Trojan, spyware with any of our

OK .... thanks for getting back.

Searching www with AI app, it shows
"Win64:Evo-gen [Trj]" is not a specific virus name, but rather a generic detection used by some antivirus software to flag files that exhibit characteristics similar to known trojans.

I will force the install when I have free time tomorrow and report back.

I've installed R2025-07-14 again and included disabling BT Norton Security to achieve this

        The process went as follows
        Install R2025-07-14
Norton Alert … “We've moved Ins1868.tmp to Quarantine. Infected with Win64:Evo-gen [Trj]”

        Disable Norton
Install R2025-07-14 – clean install and no Norton alerts
After install I checked function of CD Ripper & Music Converter (all OK)

        Re-Enable Norton
        Run Smart Scan
“Malware Threat Found …. Win64:Evo-gen [Trj”
        “Resolve Threat”
        “Resolved”

        Run Smart Scan
        Nothing Found

OK its a false alert and it may well be a Norton problem, but a lot of people have it.
Is their anything you can do to prevent a repeat in future update downloads.

Nothing we can do, we code sign every part of the program with a Microsoft signature.

          >“Resolve Threat”
          >“Resolved”

You are probably removed that part of dBpoweramp, it is used for decoding obscure formats.

OK, not wishing to push this, but please one question.
What's different with this update package from all others?
I’ve installed practically every update package for numbers of years and I’ve had the same BT Norton Security for a lot of that time, but I’ve not had this problem during that time.

Mike, do yourself a favor and forget about Norton. Norton is not a security solution, but a security problem.

We updated a component which normally is not updated every release, sometimes a year will pass. It will take some time for Norton to add this update to their white list, seems they are not as advanced as the other 70 odd anti-virus programs.
