I am new to dBpoweramp. I have ripped about 12 CDs using CD ripper so far but only about half of them are being recognized by the Apple Music app. When I go to import the file, nothing happens. But when I use itunes (which still includes a CD ripper function of its own) to create the files, the files ARE recognized by Apple Music normally and added to the library. It appears I am choosing the wrong options in encoding my files via dBpoweramps's ripper. I am choosing MP3 (LAME), ID3v2.3 tagging, constant bit rate / 320 kpbs. Everything else is the dBpoweramp default. Please advise.
Why is Apple Music not recognizing MP3s created by CD ripper?

Everything is right, what happens if you drag and drop one file on iTunes, does it play it?
Perhaps iTunes does not have access to those folders? -
I have a similar problem. Apple Music's 'Add Files to Library ' and 'Add Folder to Library' will not import from folders with a semi colon in them. I am using Album as my folder name, and any album with a colon in its title will get written to the folder name as a semi colon which Apple Music will silently reject. I'd say that's a bug in Apple Music.Last edited by ecec; September 02, 2025, 03:32 PM.Comment
