Can anyone help is there a way to rip multi-disk cds so the have track numbers in this order

....
201
202

I can't find an easy way to do this

Right click on Apply Track Number Offset on track 1, +100 is at the bottom. Make sure all discs have the same name, i.e. delete Disc 1 etc.

A very neat feature of this excellent software.

The track number tagging I think

The problem is with my new Sony mp3 player, it orders tracks disk 1 track 1 then disk 2 track 1, disk 1 track 2 and so on.

My old, now dead ipod classic didn't have this problem

What is your current naming string?

I just relied on my Ipod/software ordering them correctly so the tag just included the disk number and track number.

Didn't realise this would be an issue with track order until I got a Sony mp3 player

Is there an easy way to apply the offset mentioned above so the tag on tracks show 101, 102, 201, 202 etc

It is not clear whether the Sony is ordering tracks using the disc and track tags, or using the filenames, hence my questions.

Oggy posted a solution, pre ripping, using the CDRipper Apply Track Number Offset.

Post rip, you can try:
ID Tag Update Utilty Codec >> Manipulation >> Rule Based Manipulation, adding the following:

IF Disc=[anyvalue]
SET Track=[disc][track]

try it on a single album for testing purposes.

You can also use MP3Tag to accomplish this, using the Format Value action.

Ideally, you'd contact Sony to fix the issue.

This is a cool feature, but what if I don't want, for example, the 4th track of a two disc set to be listed as track 4? What if I'd rather have it listed as track 1 on disc two? For example, if disc one has three track, I'd like them to look like this when I view them on my Fiio DAP:
01_01_name
01_02_name
01_03_name

I'd then like the fourth track, which in this example is on disc 2 to appear as:
02_01_name
How can I make dBpoweramp do this? Thanks for your time and help.

Hi Heath,

If I understand you correctly, you would load CD1 in and ensure the metadata is as you require, delete any reference to disc / CD 1. Back on the main screen right click and apply track number offset, scroll to the bottom, +100 and apply. This will make your 3 tracks from CD1, 101, 102 and 103. Rip.

Insert CD 2, and ensure the name is identical to the first disc - you may have to delete Disc / CD 2. Back on the main screen, apply track number offset as before - this gives 101 etc. Apply a second +100, which will make your second disc 201, 202 etc. Rip.

If track 4 was Disc 2, track 1, this will now be 201. Your four tracks will now read, 101, 102, 103, 201.

If you've kept the naming from the metadata for the tracks, this should give you what you require.
