Resetting CD Ripper

Hello,

How can I reset the CD Ripper on Mac. After a resent update I started getting more and more secure rips instead of accurate rips. Release 2025-04-17 (2)

The drive I use is an external Verbatim / PIONEER BD-RW DR-UD04

Try re-ripping some previously ripped discs, it could be the cd drive is on its way out.

Honestly, the drive and the software was purchased recently. Would you be able to advise how to clean all preferences on Mac so that I can try and set Accurate Rip again, please?

AccurateRip has no setting on macOS, it will auto-key the offset if present in our database, it is not like the windows version where the offset needs finding.

If you drag the application to the trash, then reinstall it will reset the settings.

Dragging the application to the trash and reinstalling does not help. I am still seeing previous preferences. Starting to regret my decision to switch from EAC to this...

EAC does not run on a mac, install the dBpoweramp Windows version on your windows machine, and try that drive also.

The program cannot fix a failing CD drive, it is not ripping accurately then the program is working 100% correctly by reporting that, another ripper (iTunes MUSIC) would not report any issue with the rip.

Installed dbpoweramp on my windows machine and tried the built in drive and the external one with EAC and dbpoweramp. EAC read through the CD with no issues whatsoever, your latest Mac realise is causing issues on my Mac. I also tried installing earlier version on my Mac and it is a bit better but still gThe whole point of switching to dbpoweramp was so that I could use my Mac going forward as it is faster. If I am going to use my windows machine again why will I use dbpoweramp when EAC is free for windows... Any way I can get my money back?

Tested 1 CD with External and Internal Drive with both EAC and dbpoweramp on windows and got the exact same results.

This is the drive failing to return requested data,

Sometimes when these errors happen, it is the computer does not provide enough power for the drive to run, get a powered usb hub and plug the drive into it.

No drive should return imcomplete data like that (and we have ripped with usb drives for 20 years, literally millions of CDs ripped).

Removed the hub and only connected the drive to the Mac. No errors and same CRCs as the other 4 test rips on the windows machine...
