I have a question relating to CD information in relation to AccurateRip. Earlier today I found two copies of The Joshua Tree hidden away on my bookshelf. I decided to rip them both. Each has a different catalog number. Here's what's curious: after ripping the first one and inserting the second, dBpoweramp told me that the album had been ripped (despite the fact that they have different catalog numbers). The two catalog numbers are:
1744939
90581-2
Both copies have a copyright of 2007. 1744939 has a sticker on the jewel case stating that "Re-mastered Audio". 90581-2 was, I'm ashamed to say, simply inserted into the same jewel case as 1744939, and so I have no other info about that pressing.
With that context in mind, I have a few questions:
Is it possible that two copies of the same album with different catalog numbers are, in fact, 100% the same? If not, should CD Ripper and AccurateRip be able to tell the difference? If so, is there a way for me to submit the correct catalog number for the CD that is being assigned the incorrect?
