Best hard drive for storage ?

Ive just started ripping my 700+ cd collection and Im wondering which external hard drive to go for that will survive access very often to play my music over wifi or a network etc.
suggestions much appreciated.

A 500GB SSD drive would work well

A hard drive is just a dumb store, so unless your streamer has the software to read and serve from the drive, you need a NAS or similar UPnP/DNLA server.
