    Conductor

I can put in DSP tag manipulation a conductor mapping, but that seems a pain. I can also go under the tags tab and add one. But it would seem to make more sense to pull it in as a value as Music brainz and discogs seems to have this information. Or at least have the ability to turn on additional fields on the top for say, Conductor, Roon Album Tag. Am I missing something? This is an amazing application.

Also when I create a DSP tag mapping of comment -> Roon Album Tag it does not seem to populate or create it, because after the rip I look at the tracks in Jaikoz and the Roon Album Tag is not populated. Thoughts?

If the tag databases have the CONDUCTOR entered, then clicking that tag to be populated in the dbpa settings will automatically populate that tag. But it all depends on whether the info is there. Often it is not. When ripping you can click on the tag provider options to see whether one of the options shows conductor.

"If the tag databases have the CONDUCTOR entered, then clicking that tag to be populated in the dbpa" So if I set up a DPA tag manipulation (see below photo), it will auto populate? if that meta information exists? is there a way to get more meta information from music brainz, when a match is found?

You dont need id tag processing or mapping. You just need to tick CONDUCTOR in the CD Ripper settings where you select the tags you want saved, artist, album, genre, etc. im away from home so cant post a picture.

edit. Click the green icon at top of ripper screen. Then scroll down to tags and filenames. Next to metadata and id tags select OPTIONS. Then scroll down and under the WRITE ID TAGS tick conductor. If it exists it will be written. On the main ripper screen you may be able to have conductor showing as a column. I have a column for composer so i can see if the info is there for each track before i rip. If not i can manually add it then.

i dont use musicbrainz. And i dont recall whether dbpa uses MB as a tag source. You can see all of dbpa tag sources (PERFECTMETA ) when you click on the red tag icon at the top of the ripper page when ripping.

Also, why do you need to map the standard conductor tag to a roon specific conductor tag. Does roon not use the standard tag. I have roon, and i have not had to map ANY tags to get roon to recognize my metadata from dbpa rips. That said, i dont use the conductor tag.

I appreciate your help! This is great. The only Roon specific mapping I am doing gis the on in the picture for Roon Album Tag which is used for box sets.

              Thank you!
