"Dynamic Naming" string converted when set in the CD Ripper "naming" box

I have been told by Spoon and garym that my format string "TrackNum Title" is invalid in the in the CD Ripper "naming" box. This confused me because the "Dynamic Naming" string in the "CD Ripper Naming" window is "[track] [title]". I've been going around in circles trying to change the content of the CD Ripper "naming" box. I just discovered that the reason I can't change it is that the program translates "[track] [title]" in the "Dynamic Naming" string to "TrackNum Title" in the CD Ripper "naming" box.

What gives? "TrackNum Title" in the CD Ripper "naming" box has worked for me in thousands of ripped tracks. My real problem is something else, but I keep being told that the problem is the "TrackNum Title" in the CD Ripper "naming" box. If this is what the program sets for a specification of "[track] [title]", there is little that I can do about it.

    Please forgive my frustration.

That is correct, [track] [title] is shown on the main page as translated text: TrackNum Title

Yes, I thought you were using TrackNum Title in the actual dynamic naming string. Now I see that "TrackNum Title" is just in the description of that naming string, which is [track] [title], and is technically correct. But as noted earlier, I still think you are better off having a naming string that captures artist and album name to create subdirectories rather than trying to manually enter all that info in the path for each rip you do.

        Spoon,
dbPoweramp shows bogus destination directories in addition to the correct directory already specified in the "Path" box. Can we agree that the problem is not "TrackNum Title"? If so, I want to open a new thread. The old title, "CD Ripper generates strange directories when "Path" is modified" is misleading. Besides, there is a curse on that thread!
Before I get back to you, I want to find out how to send you an attachment of a screen shot. I have been being careful to save my screen shots as .jpg files. These files are easily readable on my end. I tried opening one of my .jpg attachments from your web site. It was worthless.
How can I send you a readable screen shot?
        Thanks,
        John

What is this curse that you speak of?!?

There were some replies this morning on that other thread. I think the filename character limit may be causing you some grief. Please go back to the original thread where this can be addressed directly.
