    Problem with album art

I am ripping a number of obscure CDs, most of which are not in AccurateRIP. I have been scanning a lot of covers, which is fine but adds a lot of extra work to the process.

The problem I have encountered is, when I insert a CD to rip I may or may not find the cover art. But sometimes I see other covers by the same artist, yet when I insert that CD to rip the cover doesn't show up as one of the images to choose. Since I have already seen that the cover is out there somewhere, why doesn't it show up with the right CD?

Not every disk has cover art available, for those discs you can click Choose Art and it will use Google to search.

Thanks for the reply, but you missed the whole point of my question. I am using the Choose Art button. And the cover art is available because it shows up when I try to rip a different CD by the same artist. But there is no way to direct the search so that the correct cover art shows up for the CD being ripped.

Why would a different album have the same art?

I will try to explain what I'm experiencing.

          1. I insert Disc A by artist X in the drive.

          2. No album art is automatically displayed, so I select the Choose Art button. I see a few album covers by artist X and a bunch of other stuff that I'm not sure how it's related to either the artist or the album name.

          3. I see the album art for the CD I am ripping, so I select it and finish ripping.

          4. I insert Disc B which is also by artist X into the drive.

          5. No album art is automatically displayed so I push the Choose Art button. Some album covers are displayed but not the one I am now about to rip, even though I saw that album cover displayed when I pushed the Choose Art button for Disc A by the same artist.

Since there is no way to navigate the Choose Art function, I have had to scan a lot of album covers. A few times I have been able to trick dbPoweramp by entering the previous album name, choosing the album cover, and then changing the album name back to what it's supposed to be.

It would be nice if you could enter search criteria for the Choose Art function, because I can often find the cover art on Amazon or other web sites.

You need to apply art before you start ripping.

If you find externally to the program, right click on the art, save it, then click [+] to add from the file you saved.
