If Windows then the settings are never lost, even with an uninstall. For macos you would have to install the new and select overwrite.

I have been very frustrated swith so many Cd rippers, converters, etc for a long time now. while dBpoweramp is not the cheapest, it is by far the best app of this type I have ever used- Talking many decades here.

Hi I used the 21 day demo, well only for 1 day but I did set my own tags, saves, locations ate. So I now downloaded the full version after pying. do I have to uninstall the demo before installing the paid version? Meaning-I do NOT want to lose the settings I have made if possibble.
