Ripping to wrong stereo channels

I have been used dbpoweramp for a number of years now and have noticed that some of my discs have ripped to the incorrect channel.
ie left channel plays in right speaker and vice versa.
This is not throughout my collection and hasnt happened for discs ripped in the last few years.
I definitely didnt enable the option to swap stereo channels so it is not through that.

I have googled somewhere that there was a bug in an earlier release of the software which has since been fixed.
Is this correct and what release did it apply to? Without going through the laborious exercise of listening to my thousands of discs, can I identify which discs have been ripped into the incorrect channels?

I not recall the main program ever having an issue like this, however the 'Remove Silence DSP' effect had a bug which could mix the channels. This was Release 11 time, so 10 years ago.

Can you describe the audio playback path in you system i.e. tracks on your hard disk >> audio playback path >> speakers?

Is it possible, that something else in your audio playback path has changed recently?

To my knowledge I've never had a DSP effect on.
I think I've exhausted any playback path options which may be causing it by trial and error but the playback path is Synology NAS into a SONOS -> DAC -> Pre-amp -> power amp -> speakers

Is there a way that I can establish what release I ripped discs in so I can see if there is a pattern? The majority of my discs have ripped ok.

When I look at my file tags, one of the metadata tags is "encoded by" and, for example, it notes dbpoweramp 15.3, etc. So assuming you allowed this tag to be added to your files all along, you could load all your files up in, say, mp3tag, and then create a column for "encoded by" tag, then sort on this column. Go to one of your files, right click, select "edit ID tag", then you'll see the various tags, inlcuding the "encoded by" (assuming again that tag was allowed to be written in your settings when ripping).

It's in the OPTIONS, under metadata. You tick the tags you want in the file. The good news is that this setting would have likely been consistent with every rip you did from that particular install/version of dbpa. So if you can isolate a file that has the channel problem, and look at its tags, you can see if the tag is there, and if so, what version of dbpa.

p.s. I see people talk about this channel reversal problem, but to be honest I'm not sure I would recognize whether my channels are reversed (left vs right) so long as BOTH channels were represented. Or maybe I'm missing something on this problem. (or I'm not focused enough to know that I should hear Ringo hitting the snare drum in the right channel vs the left on a Beatles song??? Of course for all the early albums, I like the MONO better anyhow!

In CDRipper, if you don't write the Encoded By tag, but are creating log files for each ripped CD, the Release and rip date info is contained in the log.

I have just re-ripped a CD in dBpoweramp R15.3 and compared it to my original rip from October 2010, ripped using dBpoweramp R14. Left and Right stereo channels are ripped the same.

Its certainly not a problem on discs ripped in recent versions just some of my older discs ripped around 7-8 years ago.

Are you able to determine the dBpoweramp version used to rip the discs from 7-8 years ago?

If you ripped to lossless, install PerfectTUNES, it will check the audio against AccurateRip (under options disable the option to use the AccurateRip values from the tags though, so each file is checked fully).
