CD Drive fault or incorrect setup?

    Hello,

Im having a bizarre issue where when trying to rip CDs in secure mode it does the first rip and then decides to try and rerip thousands of frames (upto 20,000)

However I get accurate rips when using burst mode, often with the same discs.

The question is why is it doing that? Why is it not confirming an accurate rip the first time round in secure mode as it seems to be happy to do so in burst mode.

I've been using dbpoweramp for several years now and feel fairly confident in setting it up but I can't understand why this is happening

    Thank you

Did you try to disable c2 pointers?

Yeah I have and that let's me secure rip, but in the past I've always had c2 enabled and it would always check against accurate rip correctly

Doesn't seem to do either now

Did you change your drive? Not every drive is compatible with c2.

Nope same CD drive, only thing that has changed since I last ripped in bulk is moving to windows 10.

Perhaps it is the sign of an aging drive?

            Maybe...

Perhaps Spoon can give some input, if Windows 10 can be a problem for c2, what I don't expect.

As far as we know, Windows 10 does not have issues with C2

Did you also update dBpoweramp Music Converter recently?

Hmmm, how odd. So glad I waited on upgrading to Windows 10 (from 8.1).

What is your optical drive model/manufacturer?
