How best to fix multiple folders for the same artist

I'm in the process of (finally) ripping my CDs to FLAC with dBpoweramp. But when I opened up the directory in Explorer, I saw that there several artist's albums are being distributed to different folders. I want all of a leader's albums in one folder. For example, I have a Keith Jarrett folder and a Keith Jarrett Trio folder. If I simply change the title of one folder to match the other, will the files in the 2 folders merge (without complication)? Or perhaps I should just drag the files from one folder to the other and then just delete the empty folder? Or is there still another, perhaps better, way?
    Thanks

Changing the artist tags does not rename folders, you would have to do this also, or move files.

If you want to override the defaults, modify the "Album Artist" field at the top of the CD Ripper screen before you start the rip.

NOTE: I'm making the assumption that your naming scheme (located in the bottom left panel) uses "album artist".

This will group them together at a filesystem level, but they'll still have different "album artist" tags. To fix those you'll need to modify the tag values.

Thanks. So I'm thinking that when I've ripped everything, I could just move all files of a lead artist to one file, and then delete the emptied folders. Is that correct? It would make dealing with this relatively easy.

that will work for having all the artist albums in same folder. But may not work on certain servers/players that use tag info rather than folder or file names when displaying information about your files. In my case, I use ALBUM ARTIST for this purpose. For example, I use ALBUM ARTIST = Miles Davis, even when ARTIST is something like Miles Davis Quintet, etc. That way all my Miles Davis albums are under a single album artist folder. (my dynamic naming uses ALBUM ARTIST for folder name, even if ARTIST name is different). I use the following naming string to achieve this:

          [MAXLENGTH]240,[IFCOMP]Compilations\[album][IFMULTI]\Disc [disc][]\[track] - [title] - [artist][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[album][IFMULTI]\Disc [disc][]\[track] - [title][][]
