    Multi-disc restricted character replacement

I rip my discs to ALAC with the latest version of CD Ripper. I've set Ripper to replace all Windows file name special characters with a -. This usually works fine but doing a rip of a multi-disc album recently I noticed it was replacing " for the first CD but not for discs 2 & 3. I rip muti-disc albums to the same folder and just change the number for each disc. I've checked the settings and tried re-ripping all the discs but with no success.

As you can see below the first disc has replaced the restricted characters, but for the subsequent discs / has been replaced with - but " has not.

    What am I missing?

Incidentally, I tried ripping the same discs to FLAC and got the same result.

I would double check your naming convention for multi disc sets. There is probably a difference when the disc number is higher than 1.

      Problem Solved!

There seems to be some corruption with the tag information which I loaded from MusicBrainz, although I cannot see anything wrong in the tags. I cleared the old tag data and re-ripped the 3 discs using Discogs tag information. This worked as it should are replaced all the illegal file name characters.

This is the MusicBrainz tag info. As you can see it did not replace the " in discs 2 & 3.

This is the Discogs information, which replaced all the characters correctly.

i would check that character that you are trying to replace. I would bet that is not the same Unicode character that you are trying to replace, even if it looks
        similar.

It is possible that the character was not " but some other unicode character.
