I've been using dbpoweramp for Mac for years and never had problems but since updating to 2024-11-01 version, ripping is much slower and has stubborn errors on tracks that re-ripping does not resolve. Is anyone else experiencing this or does anyone have any trouble shooting suggestions?

As a test click 'Old OS?' on your registered download page and install the newest old version, does that fix the speed issue?

Hi, sorry for the delayed response but yes I downloaded the prior version and that does not seem to give me the problems I was experiencing with the latest version, ie it works like before. My Mac mini has the M2 pro chip with 32 gb memory. Do you have any thoughts on why I experienced the performance issues with the latest version? Is it something you are aware of and a new update is coming or should I try downloading it again and see if re-downloading it makes any difference?Comment

Hi the power amp version that is working ok is release 2024-05-01
The Mac OS version is Sequoia 15.1.1, the drive is connected directly to the Mac mini with a usb cable an the drive is a Hitachi-LG GP70 External DVD Drive
Let me know if any thoughts on why the latest version of dbpoweramp r2024-11-1 might not have been working well (extremely slow ripping and some tracks just could not be ripped without errors after multiple attempts?

Thanks for the details.
I can't reproduce this problem on the development machine (Mac Mini M1) with varying optical drives, I assume one of recent fixes for other optical drives (Verbatim/Plextor) backfired for you / doesn't agree with this drive model.
I'd very much like you to try these archived beta builds of dBpoweramp:
Don't bother installing them - just run dBpoweramp app from the DMG and find out at which point the bug appeared. If we can figure out what exactly the last good / first bad build was, I'll isolate and revert problematic changes.Comment
