Ripping with an external drive - vibrations

Hello everyone, I have been ripping my CDs with dbpoweramps Ripper for many years, but for the first time I am using an external DVD drive from Hitachi, as my new PC does not have a built-in drive. But what surprises me is the behavior of the drive with some CDs, regardless of the reading speed. The vibrations during reading are so high that I have to hold the drive tightly, otherwise it would fall victim to gravity. Other CDs, on the other hand, some of which are read at even higher speeds, do not cause any problems. All data carriers were read with accurateRip without any read errors. Why do some CDs cause the drive to vibrate so much and is there anything I can do about it?

Put the disc flat on a desk, it could be warped.

This was meant to check the actual disc lying on a flat surface. Not the drive. Even a slight warp in the disc will cause it to vibrate when spinning in the drive.

CDs, particularly CDRs that have paper labels can be quite unbalanced Also, CDs that have stickers on them. And CDs that aren't round, that have been shaped for some artistic purpose. They are rotating pretty fast, it doesn't take much unbalance to create a lot of vibration.

Also I had a CD with a slight crack in it explode, yes explode, inside a drive when it speeded up. Big bang! The drive was full of broken plastic and bits of aluminization. Quite a bit escaped through the front slot around the tray also.
