.aiff files not opening in CD Ripper

I just bought new music CD published by Beckus, the Malcolm Arnold Society so I don't think it's one of the big companies. It's brass band music. It wasn't playing so I upgraded from my 2021 version to dBpoweramp 2024-05-30. The files are .aiff, and open up in CD Ripper but almost immediately vanish. There's no way of getting details of the tracks etc. By the way I tried playing them with VLC and track #1 plays for a few seconds and then stops!

I'm now on iMac desktop Sonoma 14.6.1 and it's a new Silicon M3 model. I'm hoping dBpoweramp works with the M3 (another app from some company stopped working and they're working on a new version to cope!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance. I've looked up .aiff files and I'm not sure they work the same way as eg wav, flac, mp3 for instance.

    Btw I'm on UK time.

    All best

One wouldn't use CD Ripper on aiff files. These are already lossless digital music files (aiff, FLAC, WAV, ALAC are all lossless codecs). If you want to edit the metadata tags of the files, you should be able to do that with a tag editor, including dbpoweramp tag editor. But CD ripper won't work with these files.

In general, dbpoweramp converter/editor can work fine with aiff files. I just last week converted a bunch of aiff files to FLAC with dbpoweramp.
